Dear Diary
March 9
Steve S. of the Sundial Resort earns a Brucie.  This is our last evening on Sanibel Island and Amy wants for just her and I (sans the two boys) to go out for dinner.  She arranged for a babysitter to arrive at 5:30pm.  At 5:30pm, no babysitter was to be found.  Same story at 5:35pm and 5:40pm.  Amy calls the front desk to find out the scoop (i.e., where is the babysitter as we have a 6:30pm dinner reservation on Captiva).  The front desk had it in the books for 6:30pm; even worse, the babysitter herself had us down for (next) Tuesday.

Enter Steve S., one of the managers, to the rescue.  He, with three children of his own, offers to babysit for us.  Yeah Steve, you're the man.  Did I tell you that this guy is good or what?  The boys had a great time with Steve; they had the run of the resort.  They had dinner, went out for a walk, watched a video (Disney's Hercules -- btw, the Disney site needs a lot of improvement) while munching on some popcorn, and capped off the evening with some cartoons on television.  When we got back from dinner, the boys were as happy as could be, parked on the couch with Steve watching cartoons.  Thank you Steve.

Amy and I enjoyed a relaxing dinner and then took a relaxing walk on the beach under the clear and moonlit sky.  We ended the evening on a romantic note by packing the suitcases and running the dishwasher one last time.
