24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
May 11
Yeah yeah, ok, Brucie to BBKids.  The delivery time slot was 7:00am - 9:00am.  The doorbell rang at 6:55am.  Hey, too early.  Fair is fair, however, and I shouldn't go looking for excuses to give a Noosie just because I did not get to place this order.  The delivery people were awesome and this should reflect on them and BBKids.

The delivery people put both beds together and placed them where we wanted them.  This was not trivial as it involved a fair amount of screwing (pieces of wood together that is -- hey, this website is rated G).  I certainly could have put them together myself without too much complication (after all, I am handy -- and yes, I do wash windows), though I'll admit, it was a pleasure to have someone else do it.  The delivery and setup charge was $50.  Was it worth it?  Yeah, I believe so.  Were the beds worth $200 (or about 12-15%) more from the bricks store than from the online alternative?  Maybe.  I can easily see how one would value the difference in two day availability versus five week availability in the amount of at least $200.

Did I get Sam's mattress by today?  No.  Could I have obtained it by today?  Yes.  I didn't like the alternatives available so I am going to try and create my own special online business to get what I want.  If I can't do it, then I have the fall back position of the status quo.  Oh, and I forgot to mention, "can't" is not in my vocabulary;  I will make it happen.  Wow, creating a new life-fulfillment process (the more common term that is used for something like this is "business model" -- boring), in about one day feels pretty cool.  This research is taking me down paths I never imagined ("...and I took the one less traveled by" -- R. Frost -- and it is one that many others should be strolling on down, c'mon along).  I will have the mattress that I want at terms that I like.
