| Have digital camera, will travel (and record ecommerce history).
The city is Waltham,
Massachusetts; the company is Toysmart.
I was doing a little running around and I passed this, for the moment or
perhaps forever, defunct online toy merchant historical marker.
The shining building with evening lights still functioning (photo)
and the sign proclaiming to the world that this was the Corporate
Headquarters (photo) contrasted markedly with
the empty parking lot and the signs spelling out that the store was closed
(photo1, photo2).
The failure of Toysmart was covered prominently in the Wall
Street Journal and many other publications. I could imagine myself
and others writing case studies about the failure of Toysmart, so I decided
to take some pictures of its existence for historical purposes.
(All photographs were taken with my Casio QV-2000UX digital camera with normal quality and 800x600 size. Incidentally, I have figured out how to close the camera lens cover in a way so that it does not hit the lens barrel in the process. I am loving this camera.) I sent in a request for vehicle information and pricing to Cars.com last night. I have not had a single reply from a dealer yet. We'll be celebrating Ben's fourth birthday tomorrow.
