24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
June 29
We'll be changing at least 432 more diapers.  Unless of course, Sam becomes potty trained soon (which is possible as he recently asked to sit on the potty and he is letting us know occasionally when nature calls -- yes, another thrilling topic to report in my diary).  The orders from both DrugEmporium (via USPS) and NetGrocer (via FedEx Home Delivery) arrived today -- including 432 Pampers diapers (240 for Kate and 192 for Sam).  Both orders shipped soon after receipt of my orders (see June 26).  By arriving today, DE met my expectations and NetGrocer slightly exceeded them (see "ship duration" row in the June 26 diary entry).

Janet emailed me today and let me know that she ordered a VCR from Mercata.com (for some background, see June 20, June 23, and June 28).  She had been trying to get around to doing this for about two months and just could not find the time to get to a (bricks) store (working six days a week made it challenging).  Her son is thrilled -- the VCR will be for him -- and Janet added that I'm his "hero."  Wow, this is the second time that someone has thought of me as a hero.  In April, I received a very kind email from a cybershopping fanatic who referred to me as a Modern Hero.  I don't think of myself as a hero (though, I did receive an email from a kind person who was a grad student at USC who thought that my site might be helpful to a friend of hers and others who have cystic fibrosis) , however, unlike Charles Barkley and many other professional athletes, I am willing to be a role model.  Just be forewarned, I'm just being me.  I'm not the Shaq; I'm not Michael Jordan; I'm not Superman; I'm not Batman (though I wouldn't mind -- are you listening Tim Burton or Joel Schumacher?).

Incidentally, Janet made me aware of an interesting, and at first appearance, very worthwhile site -- www.TheHungerSite.com

The Mercedes Benz Home visit is all set for tomorrow.  I wanted to inspect an ML 320 with the third row seats option; they do not have one with this feature in stock at the moment, so I'll see it later.  The Edmunds.com Townhall ML 320 Forum group has been incredibly helpful.  Andrew continues to be a phenomenal wealth of information.  I'm looking forward to the test drive.  The more I look at the ML 320 on the road, the more I like it.  My prior is that it may not have enough cabin space for our needs.
