24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
October  4
Well that's a fine how do you do.  Apparently, I've been online a lot more than usual since the inception of this research project, according to Amy, my wife.  She's right (I'm not wimping out here; she is absolutely correct).  The room in which this computer is located has become my hub for activities.  I feel as if I am either here (in e-central) or venturing out from here (uh oh, I'm getting a feeling that either this or some future diary entry is going to get a little weird...phew, that moment passed).  I keep the computer on all day (I tend to shut it off at the end of the day) and I do check in for email frequently.  In addition, I tend to surf for many questions that come to mind.  For example, when I read the advertisement for the new HP printer, it was natural for me to stride over to the computer and surf for detailed information about it.  Without a doubt, my behavior has changed.  I'm friendlier and more delightful to be around now :-)

(Let's save some additional introspection for the future.)  Back to the topic of e-shopping.  I placed an order with HomeRuns tonight, with 20 minutes to spare in order to get guaranteed next day delivery.  They have modified their website, so that nutritional information and pictures are available for some of the products.  I hope they soon get that information up online for ALL of their products.  The earliest time available for delivery was the 10:30 am to 12:30 pm slot.  I made a special delivery request that the delivery occur by 11:30 am.  (In all two of my prior experiences, deliveries have occurred closer to the earlier time of the delivery time range).

For some reason, I felt like a kid in a candy jar tonight.  I ordered a lot of goodies (e.g., several types of ice cream -- Brighams, Ben and Jerry's, Pepperidge Farm Cookies, Trix cereal, Ritz bits, etc.).  Every aisle was right in front of me; whatever I wanted was within a simple click and link.  I partly felt that I was spending funny money.  Fascinating.
