24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
October 28
For scientific reasons I am going to try Streamline; I will be shocked if I enjoy using them.  With this kind of prior, if I do end up being satisfied with  and maintaining a relationship with them, then they must truly be a phenomenal service.

Several strikes against Streamline that have given me a less than positive disposition toward them at the moment (I can be diplomatic):

Strike One
Salesperson continued to call me over the telephone periodically after my initial inquiry of over 30 days ago.  (In fairness, I may have made some statements that could have been interpreted as suggesting that it was still ok to pursue me as a customer.)

Strike Two
Deliveries to my neighborhood are on Thursdays only.  What if I need more food on any other day of the week?  I guess Streamline feels that customers can get deliveries whenever they want, as long as it is on Thursdays.

Strike Three (one out)
The delivery time is "by the end of the day."  I'll probably learn to love this feature.  It sounds better than picking a specific delivery time that would fit my schedule.

Strike Four
I must  have a refrigerator placed in my basement (it will not fit in my garage -- an alternative location).  Streamline employees could possibly be in my house when I am not there.  I could easily imagine them damaging my bulkhead door over time (I will instruct them to be gentle).  I requested service without a refrigerator; this is not an option.  Thank you for accommodating me.  I guess Streamline feels that customers can have any option desired, as long as they take the refrigerator.

Strike Five
I get to lug my groceries up from the basement.  I wonder if I'll realize that this is more convenient than having the groceries placed directly on my kitchen counter for me (e.g., by Homeruns).

Strike Six (two outs)
I had to select a password for my account and tell it to the salesperson over the telephone.  If I ever want to change my password, I need to call it in and state the desired change directly to a person.  Streamline has cleverly taken a position that no one else has; they will dominate in the area of security and trust.  This is the first time in my life where I have had to not  keep private a password associated with an electronic/computer/web account.  It feels so good to know that I do not need to keep this secret any longer; a weight has been lifted.  Banks and others will probably catch on to this soon.  Streamline would be wise to patent this intellectual idea.

Streamline suggested that I select a password that I can easily remember.  Good idea.  I thought about using a password that I typically use on many of my other electronic/computer/web accounts; this would certainly be easy to remember.  As a bonus, the salesperson and others at Streamline would then know my password for these accounts.  If they ever learned of my various account names, they could then access these accounts and help me streamline my life.  Foolishly, I selected a password that I've never used before;  I hope that I can remember it.  Forgetting it should not be a big deal; if I can't access my streamline account, no big whoop.

I can hardly wait to begin using Streamline.
