24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
December 13
Part of my order from HomeWarehouse.com arrived today.  Fortunately, the refrigerator light bulb arrived.  Who would believe that one could be excited to receive a refrigerator light bulb; I was very happy.  Ah, the ability to see what is in the refrigerator again.  Unfortunately, my calculator batteries were not enclosed in the package.  I sent HomeWarehouse an email to let them know that these batteries were missing (and a 4-pack of AAA batteries that I ordered were also missing from the package delivered).

Tonight, one of my sisters let me know that her husband had a poor experience with Reel.com and that she feels a Noosie is in order (delivery was over one week late).  I don't feel, however, that it is my place to give this Noosie.  The giving of a Noosie is a very personal and special moment, one that should never be compromised.  She's going to have to create her own website.  I can, however, be her advocate (smile).

Also, during the weekend, I helped another sister purchase a used car (Acura Legend).  She did all the legwork; I cruised online to find pricing information (and helped a little with the negotiation).  In the end, I believe she got a very fair deal.

And, as long as we are on the car topic, I have been consulting with some friends down the street who are looking to buy a Volvo.  Online, I have found prices that differ by about $2000 for the model in which they are currently interested.

One final car item; a friend recently emailed me and let me know that she had a very positive experience with CarMax in Texas.

I've been hearing a lot of Send.com advertisements.  It spurred me to visit Send.com.  They have an interesting concept; it appears to be, however, way overpriced.  For example,  they are offering a gift of 2 deserts and 2 coffees/teas at a local restaurant for $49.00.  The price of these items at the restaurant with tax and tip is about $25 at most.  Am I missing something?  Why wouldn't one order a gift certificate from this restaurant as opposed to ordering with Send.com?  You will definitely be "the giver" if you order from Send.com.

Amazon.com shipped a few more items today (see below).  Hey, Amazon.com, thanks for letting me know.  In addition, Buy.com let me know that they are still trying to fulfill the Batman Movie video.
