24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
December 20
When I arrived home today, Amy was reading the Dr. Seuss book How the Grinch Stole Christmas to the boys.  I began singing, "you're a mean one Mr. Grinch...." When she said, "let's get the video for the boys."  I said, "yah, great idea."  I cruised to Amazon.com and Buy.com.  Buy.com had a much lower price.  In addition, I ordered the book Code, And Other Laws of Cyberspace by Lessig (I've been meaning to read it).

I did pause before ordering with Buy.com.  Amazon.com has impressed me in certain ways.  My first order with them was broken up into four separate deliveries; I received the final one today (the Green Power Ranger -- another $10 off coupon was enclosed).  I found out today that they gave me a courteous shipping upgrade to US Priority Shipping for my Beatles figures order.  In addition, one of the Beatles figures was listed as shipping in typically 2-3 days.  Amazon, however, got all of the items out the door in less than 24 hours for me.  I suspect that their database kept a record of their failure to ship the items from my first order on time (though I received the items near when I was expecting them because Amazon upgraded the shipping service) and they recognized how quickly I returned (and that I used a coupon) to buy again, and they wanted to "make it up" to me.  Way to go Amazon -- you've earned  Brucie.

I was in search of cologne, so I visited both  Ashford.com and ibeauty.com (this website exists -- sometimes it doesn't come up  -- ?).  I almost made a purchase; apparently, I was not motivated enough to make one this evening.  My supply is dwindling, however, and I will make a cologne purchase soon.

My 12th favorite thing to buy online is Tropicana Orange Juice.
