| eToys
is the only website that I have seen thus far promoting "after Christmas"
discounts. They list many "at one time" popular items (e.g., Star
Wars, Starting Lineup) at up to 75% off.
I went to Topixonline for the first time (I discovered it through dogpile.com -- not an appealing website name to me) and found its collection of products to be fascinating. I searched for "after Christmas" sales today, and I didn't find much beyond the eToys sale. I am a little disappointed. I hope that tomorrow will bring a deluge of sales. I am very curious to see whether online merchant behavior will mimic that of their bricks-and-mortar compatriots. I may have to wait until after 01/01/00 for some extraordinary deals -- probably through ebay -- as everyone who stocked up on a variety of necessities and then found out that they didn't need them after all, will be looking to unload "new and never opened box" items. I'll be on the hunt for a good generator as I've been thinking about getting one for years. Sorry to say that I will not be in the market for canned tuna fish or bottled water. My 7th favorite thing to buy online is Coyote Cafe Fire Roasted Salsa. |
