24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
December 29
My partial apologies to DrugEmporium.com as my order arrived today.  Perhaps I was a bit harsh in the sentiment I expressed in yesterday's diary entry, though it was how I felt at the time.  I had placed an order on December 26 (and I knew that it would not ship on Sunday)  and another order on December 27 (Monday).  I had been expecting both orders to arrive on December 28 (Tuesday) as they offered free next day delivery.  They arrived today (Wednesday), one day later than expected.  In yesterday's diary entry, I commented in parentheses that I was annoyed by their failure to deliver as promised.  I had reason to believe that the order was not going to arrive even today.  When I checked on the status of my order during the late hours of Tuesday evening (actually, early Wednesday morning), DrugEmporium's website indicated that the orders had not shipped.  Obviously, their order status information database needs to be better coordinated with the actual status of an order.

Incidentally, I was just notified by CVS.com that my order with them finally shipped (recall that I placed this order on December 26 -- Sunday).  CVS took more time to ship my order  than did DrugEmporium; shame on you CVS (hey, I need to be fair).  I have no idea what is happening with my Rx.com order.  The race is still on between CVS and Rx.  Go drugstores go, I want my Mylanta cherry flavored tablets.

My online purchase of the day was an order from Streamline.  It was a large order given the holiday weekend and that the sky will be falling on 01-01-00 (oooh, I'm scared).  I hope they can deliver on my order for 7,000 (plus or minus 6,996) bottles of water .

I'm working on a new song, "The Ballad of an Unnamed Internet 24/7 Shopper."

On track 45 is an online shopper
Shopping around the world

Shopping any hour of the day
And ideally he won't have to pay, for shipping

He's looking for good deals
Crazy thoughts pass through his brain
There's one thing that I can say...

Shopitashop and a shopitashoop
He likes to shoppityshoop
Callalillylillygig and a bear dressed like a pig
Follow in line and do what I do
Oh, hello

Carries nothing from a car
In a few years that won't be bizarre

The mailman is his friend
So just humor him, for in the end

The clicks go by
The by goes boo
And he knows just what to do...

Shopitashop and a shopitashoop
He likes to shoppityshoop
Callalillylillygig and a bear dressed like a pig
Follow in line and do what I do
Oh, so long

This might be getting long (dramatic pause)
He wants to continue on, though

His wife might say uh uh
What's an on online shopper to do

I don't pick up things on the way home
I don't run out to the mall
I like it all in all

And so I hope
That I can continue this research until next Fall

(This is still a work in progress.)

My 3rd favorite thing to buy online is the Yellow Submarine George Harrison figure manufactured by McFarlane Toys.
