24/7 DIARY ENTRY

Dear Diary
August  27
A significant preliminary purchase. I ordered a pc online through MicronPC. I considered Dell and Gateway. This will be my first non-Macintosh computer :-(. Alas, business considerations (i.e., both research and consulting) have forced my hand. I was impressed most with Dell's website; they have it down. My choice decision was highly influenced by a knowledgeable computer staff person from Boston University (many thanks Nael) and the better value offered by MicronPC ( a similar Dell system would have cost approximately $400 more). I felt comfortable configuring and purchasing a computer online. I believe that it made more sense than going to a bricks-and-mortar computer store. The product will be delivered to my door by a friendly customer-focused UPS employee. What else do I need? For the type of system that I ordered and the quality and service assurances I require, a computer is a computer is a computer.
