I am looking to buy a RollsRoyce
Silver
Cloud. My preference is for a 1958 model, though, depending on how impatient
I get, I might consider another model year. I found this
1958
model (scroll to near bottom of page) online and I will give it serious
consideration. The information reported sounds good. There is some history
to this interest. Amy’s grandfather, Richard Mermis, bought a 1958 Rolls
Royce Silver Cloud I in 1958. When the mood struck him to get one, he walked
into a dealer and said, in essence, “I want to buy Rolls Royce…now.” When
he passed on, Amy’s grandmother, Kate, continued to operate the Rolls,
and drove it, typically, on Sundays. Well, Amy’s grandmother passed on
recently and the fate of the car is uncertain. Anyways, I would like to
carry on the family tradition of driving a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud on
Sundays, with family in tow, of course. I’ve thought briefly about purchasing
other classic cars, however, they would not deliver the same emotion. I
envision my two boys looking back, someday, with fondness on their Sunday
strolls in the Rolls. Depending on condition (and assuming past ownership
by those other than royalty or other type of celebrity), the Silver Cloud
is valued in the $12,000 - $30,000 range. The ultimate situation would
be to own the family Rolls. I shall see...
